If Life Is Meaningless, Why Live? – Meditation on Ecclesiastes

If everything is meaningless, why live?
Do not live for the pleasures of yourselves.
Let not the world make you its captive.
For they trust in the wisdom of themselves.
We trust alone in wisdom of our God.
We must fear God and keep His holy law.
To God we must confess, Him truly laud.
If we lack God, our work is naught but flaw.
So let your youth give joy and happiness.
Know that in everything God will judge you.
So in all things serve Him with faithfulness.
With God and His grace we will make it through.
We must to God with our whole hearts confess,
That God will be the answer true for us.

What is life if God is not feared? – A Meditation on Ecclesiastes

What is our gold and shining metal worth?
Our wealth is meaningless, makes us not strong.
Who has found love in wealth out of the earth?
And does what is right, who never does wrong.
What is knowledge, without understanding?
Can wisdom ever fully be obtained?
Taking a jump where there is no landing,
Falling down and down, not a thing is gained.
Toil too is meaningless to the heart,
It is all a chasing after the wind.
Just as the man came so he will depart,
And he will find that for him life has thinned.
Therefore stand in awe of God our Lord,
And one day we will reap the great reward!

As Christmas Draws Near…

Today we had a long choir practice, which was very fun and joyful.
Next week we will be having Spirit Week!!!
Mr. VanVeen pulled a prank on Mr. den Hollander, the result of which is the legs picture we are posting today.
On Wednesday we will be having our Christmas Assembly, and everyone is welcome to come!

‘Tis the Season to be Jolly!!!

The Week of Surprises

This week we just finished off curling; most students are happy, some are a little sad.

On Wednesday we had a presentation from a representative of The King’s University College in Edmonton, who bought pizza for us!

Also on Wednesday, the Grade 3 class from DCS came to our school and went with our Grade 3 class to the IMAX, where they watched a Mummy Movie.

We here at the blog decided that we want to have our very own email! So if you have any pictures from a field trip or other event this year, you can send them to us at ICSschoolblog@hotmail.com.
